I met Pete Mueller 10 years ago just months after my 40th Birthday. We decided to team up and raise some money for Breast Cancer research. The idea was that Pete was going to get me ready for my 1st triathlon and we asked that people join us and raise money as well.
I remember showing up for my 1st session ready to go, needed to lose about 40lbs, so figured an hour on the weights, cardio then head over to the club for a swim. After 20 minutes of going as hard as I could, Pete looked at me and said, "let's stretch you out and get you on your way….." WHAT? THIS IS CRAZY TALK MUELLER! Forty pounds in two months wasn't going to happen on 20 minutes a day.
That's when Pete sat me down like the fitness Yoda that he is and began to explain the concept of short intense workouts. Functional strength became my goal, I could prepare for any fitness goal without beating my body to a pulp. At 40 I had very little flexibility in my hips and my knees screamed at me every time I ran. One of the hidden gems of the Pete Mueller Group", is that his team gets the concept of proper movement. It's focusing on the little things that allow people over 40 to stay in the game.
Whatever your fitness goals are, from Tri's to long hikes to just looking darn sexy, Pete and his team do a great job of getting you there, without sacrificing much time "feeling it" the next day, and they do it in a fun and supportive atmosphere that CANNOT be found anywhere else in Milwaukee.
